Royal Family

The Unseelie royal family history may be traced back through history to the Seelie court before the Seelie Civil War, as the first queen, Fire, was once princess in the court under the sun. The current ruling family are direct descendants of Queen Fire herself, for the main bloodline has not branched away despite the many coups and revolutions led against the crown over the thousands of years since the exile.

The current ruling family consists of Queen Lune and King Star, their two children, Light and Crown Princess Ciel, Ciel’s two children Horizon and Dawn, and Lune’s other two children with separate consorts, Silver and Aurora. There exists peace between her four children that has never before existed during the reigns of former queens, and even princes and princesses of past reigns are welcome to enjoy the pleasures enjoyed by the royal family now.

Current Ruling Family

Lune, Queen of All Darkness

Lune is the 12th Queen of the Unseelie Court, daughter of Queen Dream. Lune’s reign began 3,000 years before the common era when her first knight, Twilight, led a coup that resulted in the death of both Queen Dream and King Thantos. Her reign is the longest in the history of the Unseelie Court and has been notably marked with peace and prosperity within her court. Working with King Leo of the Seelie Court, Lune has ushered in a new era of understanding and cooperation between the two opposing courts. She is known as the Queen with Many Daughters for her numerous children including Prince Light, Crown Princess Ciel, Princess Silver, and Princess Aurora. Loved by her people, feared by her enemies, thought to be beautiful as the Goddess herself by all, Lune is one of the most powerful and influential beings in the history of Faerie.

Star, King of Light

It was with extreme trepidation that Star, known in this lifetime as Touya (or Peach Arrow), became king. Star’s soul had been exiled to the human world after committing the crime of welcoming a light stealer into the court and his bed by the hand of the woman he loved most. 3000 years later, odd coincidences led Touya to Faerie, where he learned the truth of his past life and became suddenly neck deep in a world he did not understand. The birth of Ciel brought about the responsibility to become king, and while it became easier to integrate into the court as he regained his self once lost, he has struggled with the inner conflict of who he is now, who he was in the past, and who he could potentially be were he to just let his heart lead his path.

Ciel, Crown Princess

Ciel is to be the 13th queen of the Unseelie court and is popular with the people of the court. She spent her early years bouncing between Faerie with her mother and the human world where her father spent much of his time. She came to love the human sport “bases ball” (as she calls it) as well as human holidays and traditions not native to Faerie. Ciel holds a controversial opinion that the courts should be merged to rejoin all Fae under a common rule which she intends to pursue when she is on the throne. Her older brother Light is her First Knight as well as her greatest friend.

Light

Prince Light is the eldest of Lune’s children, born to she and Star not long after Star’s death. He did not know his father for most of his life and thus adopted Night as his surrogate father. Light defended Star as a child while the emotions of the Unseelie fae still ran high and all believed Star’s actions to be traitorous. He did not take well to his lessons with L’Arc nor his princely training wishing instead to be a knight to protect his mother. Light is now First Knight to his sister Ciel and is close to all of his younger sisters. He has joined with his consort and knight Mist and now enjoys running court from time to time so long as he is not expected to resume the mantle of “crown prince.”

Silver

Princess Silver has claimed that she was queen since she could speak. Daughter to Queen Lune and the First Knight, she is cunning, sly, spirited, and stunningly beautiful. Her ambition has been a concern to many – that she may attempt a coup on her older sister Ciel – but Silver has proclaimed time and again that she has no need for it when she is already Queen. A select few know the truth of this – Silver is the reincarnation of the First Queen, Fire. Her soul has traveled through many lifetimes to try to rejoin with her destined, Gold. In this life, they spend each day together as princess and knight. And in their dreams they meet again as Silver is one of the few remaining living dreamwalkers.

Aurora

Aurora is the youngest child of both Lune and L’Arc, born of a mutual desire to bring a daughter into the world that would be given nothing but utmost love and care.  She is seen as the baby of the family, naturally curious of the world around her, and is rarely taken seriously by her young age. In jest, she is referred to as the “pretty” one, for she approaches life in a carefree manner that comes across as naive to the darker aspects of the court. She is eager to grow up quickly, and is surprisingly cunning despite her soft and sweet demeanour.

Prince Horizon

The first grandchild to be born to a living queen’s daughter, the son of Crown Princess Ciel and the Little One. No one quite knows where the mop of bright orange hair atop Horizon’s hair comes from, as his mother’s hair resembles the moon and his father’s is so black it shines with a hint of blue under the moonlight. He has yet to find his true place within the court – he is encouraged to undergo knight training as his uncle did, but he is uncertain of the path he wishes to walk. He has named his knight Lucky as his consort, after much bumbling around the possibility of more than simply friendly feelings. He will fiercely protect his sister with his life.

Princess Dawn

Dawn is the youngest grandchild to Queen Lune and Ciel’s child with Bright. She is a clever young child who is nearly inseparable from her older brother, Horizon. She is raised equally by Bright, Ciel, and her Little One. She has helped bridge the gap between Bright, who staunchly believes in the evils of Light Stealers, and the Little One’s vampire family members.

Other Royalty

Gold

Oftentimes Gold falls in the shadows. He is the son to L’Arc, with whom he has a rocky relationship at best. In an effort to protect Gold’s heart from further pain, L’Arc was responsible for taking Gold’s memories, and as a result Gold spends many years largely unaware of his past. He endlessly seeks for who he calls his “Firefly,” regularly leaving the court for both the human world and other Faerie courts in an effort to find her.

Iris

As the second princess born to Queen Bloom, and first daughter to L’Arc, Iris spent the majority of her childhood as the subject to her older sister’s distain – she viewed Iris as competition for the throne, and as result of such they did not have a close relationship. It was often said that Iris would be a far better candidate for queen than her sister, yet instead Iris herself yearned to seek adventure, chase dragons to the far outreach of the court, and dreamed of teaching her children some day to enjoy the same. One day before she was to turn of age, she mysteriously disappeared under the watch of her First Knight, Zephyr, and even 3000 years later her disappearance goes largely unexplained.
